Mother and Child Christmas

Another Christmas card design that I completed yesterday:
* Image from The Angel Company, gold embossed on green cardstock
The frame I die cut with my BigKick from the handmade paper I've been hoarding saving from last Christmas. I then trimmed everything in a gold leaf pen.
Ever get a new tool and you end up using it for everything (until you get your next new tool)? That's the gold leaf pen. I just got it last week and it sure has come in handy on my Christmas cards. Love the look!
Yummmmm....

So I got on the scale that lies like a dog this morning, as per my to-do list (yes, I have that on my list. Don't laugh.) Yep, definitely the holidays and I seem to be ahead of schedule.
This afternoon I got a few things in the mail. Getting mail during the holidays is so much fun, isn't it?
Can you guess what it is?
See that? It's fudge! I guess I'll have to hide it from my husband myself...
Hmm... Scale? What scale?
P.S. - A special thank you to Sandy, who shouldn't have, but she did. And yes, it will be thoroughly enjoyed! (We don't believe in wasting good chocolate.)
Tim's Tutorials

Most of you have probably heard of Tim Holtz, Designer & Senior Educator for Ranger Industries. He's been an industry favorite for a number of years now. He (finally!) started a blog last month, and he is currently doing a "12 Tags of Christmas" event for his readers. That's 12 days of techniques and wonderful artwork from Tim himself.
It's not easy to teach, it takes a certain something for a person to share what they know effectively. Teaching via an online tutorial isn't any easier (and if you've found good tutorials on the many blogs and websites out there, be sure to say THANK YOU! for their hard work). But Tim is a master: Not only a wonderful artist, but a fabulous teacher as well. He's very generous in teaching what he knows and always finding something new and fun to offer.
So go take a look at his blog, and leave a comment on his tutorials. If you're real lucky, you might win a prize in his daily giveaway during the 12 Tags of Christmas. At the least, you'll learn something new!
Vintage-Style Christmas

Two Christmas concerts, a museum trip, secret projects #1 & #2, a batch of Christmas cookies and several days later...
Here is another Christmas design I'll be sending out this year. Looks like I'm only making four cards of each design - I've got a ways to go. Ya know, every August I start thinking about the things I need to do for Christmas. Maybe next year I ought to start doing in August!
* Patterned paper from Daisy D's Attic Heirlooms paper pack, mounted on green cardstock
* Image from The Angel Company, embossed in gold on green cardstock
* Papers/cardstocks distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink
It's About Time

I'm finally thinking about Christmas cards. Actually, I've been thinking that I should do them for a while, so I should say that I'm finally DOING Christmas cards!
Here's my first design:
* All images from The Angel Company
* Reindeer gold embossed on black cardstock, framed with a gold leaf pen
* Matted on DCWV Plum cardstock, stamped with a swirly image with gold ink
I will probably do at least 2 more designs, possibly more, so stay tuned!
