A Not-So-Crafty Month
By ScrappyPam on Oct 14, 2010 | In Stamping
All is well here, if you consider running around like a chicken with her head cut off "well"! Life has intruded upon my crafty time again and I see it's been a while since I've posted anything here.
I've noticed that if I don't blog for a while, it's hard to get back into it. Know what I mean?
Anyway, here I am trying to get back into the swing of things! I'll start with this booklet I made for a recent challenge on StampHaven, which coincides nicely with this week's challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show: Both challenged me to use metal on my project.
I created this booklet with metal and metallic colors: I started with a thin metal sheet (thicker than kitchen foil, but thinner than a coke can), embossed it then colored it with alcohol inks and glued it to a coaster. I painted the die cut gears then used copper Stickles on them. The die cut banner is outlined with copper Stickles and stamped in copper Brilliance ink. The lettering is outlined with a copper glitter pen. If you look closely you'll see the Black Soot Distress Stickles that edges the metal.
Be sure to take a look at the rest of the submissions for the Simon Says Stamp and Show metal challenge!
