Random Acts of Kindness
By ScrappyPam on Jan 29, 2008 | In RAKs
Or RAK's, as we call them in blogland. Over the last year I've become more and more involved in the stamping/scrapping areas of the internet; I visited many places and have read a lot of blogs. There are three places that I now visit regularly (you can see them in my sidebar, under "Crafty Communities"). All three are very different places, but they all have one thing in common: Community and great people who make up that community.
Besides being creative, crafty people tend to be very generous. They share their knowledge, their ideas and their stash. Yes! Even their stash! Here are two examples that came in the mail for me this past month:
The first came from Louise at Kard Krazy, for no other reason except that she cleaned up in her studio. I got this great big batch of fabulous goodies right after Christmas, but it's taken me this long to take a photo of it. Actually, it took this long to find an uncluttered surface where I could put all of it to take a picture. But we won't talk about that.
Louise does exceptional work and has been published many times over. I visit her blog regularly and we run into each other over at Two Peas and Stampin' D' Amour.
Andi can be found at her blog, Andi's Perfect Gravy, as well as Two Peas. There, she recently hosted a Hoarder's Anonymous challenge which I participated in and she picked my name out her hat for a prize. See all the great things she sent? Her blog features her creative work and stories of her life on a ranch in Eastern Oregon.
Like anyone, I enjoy receiving RAK's in the mail - it's always a surprise and it's always something fun! But I also enjoy the ones I see everyday: A freely shared template of that cute little treat box, that great tutorial for a fabulous technique, beautiful artwork I am inspired by, praising comments on a blog post.
Thanks, everyone.
