Another card to meet a few challenges over at the SummerHaven 2009 event at StampHaven. The gallery is full of wonderful pieces!
This is my submission for several challenges, including "Christmas in July" - I figured now is a good time to get a head start on the season!

All images and patterned paper from The Angel Company.
SummerHaven 2009 Has Begun!

Over at StampHaven we've started our summer stamping festival - SummerHaven 2009. It lasts for two weeks (ending July 12) of leisurely challenges and fun. Why don't you join us?
I started the event with Teresa's Background Beauties challenge: Create a project using a background stamp. By the time I finished, I was also able to enter my card in Chris' Stash Challenge. Fun stuff!

The Card To Go With The Frame
By ScrappyPam on Jun 22, 2009 | In Stamping, Fun Projects | 2 feedbacks »
After I finished the frame for my Dad (see this post for details) I created his card...

And, he actually got them both yesterday, on Father's Day. Score one for me!
Here's the paint treatment I did for the back of the frame. I had started with one of those bare wood frames from Michaels.

And here's a closeup of the front:

Happy Father's Day 2009

Happy Father's Day!
I finally (this morning) completed my project for my Dad. Now I just have to wrap it and get it over to him. Phew!
I talked about lace in my sneak peak in this post. I did indeed use lace - as a texture. Then came the paint! The paint techniques took longer than anything else, but I had a great time. I need to remember to get my paints out more often.
The rest of the project is pretty simple - Dad's not into fussy. I have to say that the frame looks better in person than it does in the photo. Hope he likes it!

Tag Tuesday #5
By ScrappyPam on Jun 19, 2009 | In Stamping | 3 feedbacks »
I am constantly in awe of all of you who get your challenge submissions done on the same day the challenge comes out. I usually start at the last minute (the ideas percolate in my brain for a few days) and then it's too late - the next challenge is up before I finish (or even start).
So you won't be surprised that it's Friday, yet I'm offering my submission for Tag Tuesday over at Louise's Kard Krazy blog. The theme is masks, as in the technique. I used Tim Holtz's swirly mask on mine.

I'm still working on the lace project. With any luck, I'll actually finish it before Father's Day!
